To navigate, choose the slide show or double click on each photo individually.  During the show, if you send your mouse to the top of the photo, you’ll see a navigation bar which stops the show and allows you to move through the collection.  Moving it to the bottom of the photo allows you to click on the parallel lines to pause.  Or you could just move it out of the way and watch the show.
